Please note  Pilates classes are currently only available in our Sydney CBD Pitt St practice.

Pilates focuses on precision and postural integrity. It takes practices from other methods such as yoga to address posture, pain, weakness and control.

Devised by Joseph Pilates (1883-1967), it has, in more recent years, clinically proven to improve core stability and help with the management of pain and injury in musculoskeletal conditions.

It primarily aims to improve the deep postural (core) stabilizing muscles of the pelvis, spine and shoulder regions.

It aims to correct:

  • Faulty movement patterns and poor postural habits
  • Improve strength and flexibility
  • Enhance recovery from injury

The principles of Pilates focus on:

  • Concentration
  • Centering
  • Breathing
  • Control
  • Precision and Flowing Movement

It involves a selection of exercises performed in a controlled flowing motion requiring focused concentration on specific deep core stabilizing muscles.
